Everyone looks forward to the new moon. The new moon is basically a cosmic reset button. It’s probably the most important phase of the moon cycle, so you better take advantage of its energy when it comes around! There’s a reason that so many astrologers make such a big deal out of the new moon. That energy just cannot be found anywhere else! But it’s important to recognize that every new moon is a little different. For example, a new moon in Venus is going to bring a different energy than a new moon in Pisces. Depending on which sign the moon is in, you may want to focus on different goals and aspects of your life.
On January 27, the new moon will be in Aquarius. So, what should you be expecting, how should you prepare, and how will it effect you? Here are a few ideas.
- Remember-it’s all about YOU.
Aquarius is a unique sign. They’re never afraid to march to the beat of their own drum-even if it means marching alone. So take stock of your life and consider-are there areas where you are only acting in a certain way or engaging in certain behaviors to please others? Is it possible for you to change that in your current situation? If so, it’s time to do something about it.
- Think carefully about your relationships and their influence on your spiritual health.
Is there anyone in your life who wants you to change-into someone who you’re not? It’s normal for friends to encourage positive changes in your life. Change doesn’t have to be bad-in fact, change is often a good thing. However, if someone is trying to influence you negatively and act in ways that go against your values, let the Aquarius new moon give you the courage to walk away from them. You don’t need that in your life, and that good Aquarius energy will help you cut them out if necessary.
- When you write down your goals, don’t worry about pleasing anyone else.
The Aquarius new moon is all about figuring out what YOU truly want and letting go of the expectations of others. You don’t need to live to please other people-and in fact, you shouldn’t. It will damage you in the end. You can’t put all of your energy towards making other people happy. So when you set your intentions, don’t think about what would look good on a resume, what would make your family happy, or what falls in line with what society wants for you.
- Be selfish-and be unapologetic about it.
Look, selfish behavior is usually criticized-and for good reason. But give yourself just these couple days to treat yourself and focus on yourself. You must begin to understand the importance of prioritizing yourself and your needs. This doesn’t mean ignoring or blowing off your family and friends, but it does mean considering your mental, physical, and spiritual needs before committing to anything.
