Saturn entered its retrograde period on March 25, and it’s not over yet-it’s going to stay that way until August 13. Saturn enters retrograde about every twelve months, where it remains for about four and a half months. We still have some time to feel its effects, and you may be wondering how Saturn has made an impact on your life over the past few months.
Saturn is known for its influence on how we experience karma in the most basic sense of the word-if we’ve done something negative, Saturn will bring about an appropriate reaction, and if we’ve done something positive, we’ll see the universe bring positivity our way. Saturn in retrograde causes us to look back at our past, reflect on our actions, and own up to any negativity that we put out there. It’s a challenging process, so here’s a quick guide on how to handle it:
- Deal with any lingering guilt.
If you realize that you’ve hurt people in the past, whether it was on purpose or accidental, you’re probably feeling some level of guilt. This is natural, but it doesn’t have to last forever. Remember, wallowing in guilt isn’t helping the situation-it’s time to take steps to correct whatever happened.
- Tie up loose ends and make amends.
This could mean finishing any projects that you’ve considered just abandoning, reaching out to long lost friends, or apologizing to someone that you know you’ve hurt. There a million ways to make amends-just make sure that you take action and don’t leave any open wounds.
- Forgive others-and yourself!
If someone has wronged you in the past, it’s time for forgive them, no matter how tempting it can be to hold a grudge. Saturn in retrograde is all about dealing with and moving on from the past, not holding on to it. Don’t forget to cut yourself a little slack, too.
- Reflect on self-improvement.
So, you’ve let go of your guilt, you’ve apologized when necessary, and you’ve forgiven yourself and other people in your life for any wrongdoings. Now, it’s time to think about how you can improve for the future. Were you having issues in personal, professional, or financial areas? Were you struggling to communicate? Were you failing to hold up your end of bargains or keep promises?
- Make positive changes!
As Saturn’s retrograde period comes to an end, it’s time to put all of this reflecting into practice. Make a list or a chart of your goals for the next few months, and write down everything that you want to accomplish. Be specific! What do you really want for your life? How you can you improve on issues that you had in the past? Who can help you to accomplish these goals? Make sure you focus on surrounding yourself with positive people-this is a major key to making positive changes in your own life!
If you accept that challenge that this Saturn retrograde period has presented to you, you’ll be much better off by the time it comes around again!
